CT Scan

Joining our other in-office diagnostic tools is a CT scan machine; this computerized technology produces three-dimensional images of your mouth, with specialized cross-section views. This data makes the dental implant planning process much easier than traditional methods. Precision during the planning process leads to greater accuracy when placing the implants.

Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF) System®

One of the most exciting advances in the medical field is being applied to modern dentistry – the use of a patient’s own platelets to help speed recovery from oral surgery. There are natural growth factors in blood plasma and platelets that help with the healing process by accelerating the regeneration of injured tissues. Dr. Valenzuela takes a small amount of the patient’s blood (for example, from the arm), purifies the platelets, and then uses this compound to clot wounds left by oral surgery – such as dental implant placement surgery. This is known as the Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF) System®. PRGF technology decreases the patient’s risk of complications by up to 30 percent.

Piezoelectric Surgery

The highly advanced piezoelectric surgical technique offers a way to selectively cut hard tissue in the mouth without damaging surrounding tissue. The piezoelectric surgery unit uses ultrasonic technology to generate micro vibrations for bone cutting with minimal trauma to soft tissue. This system can also be used in surgery on the hard tissue and nerves.

Dr. Valenzuela also employs a soft tissue laser at his practice; this versatile tool is used for cosmetic gum surgery, periodontal therapy, and soft tissue treatments.
